POP ART

Pop Art was the art of popular culture. It was the visual art movement that spread optimism during the post war. The consumer boom of the 1950's and 1960's boosted rapidly because of this movement. It coincided with the globalization of pop music and youth culture, lead by Elvis Presley and the Beatles. Pop Art was brash, young and fun and hostile to the artistic establishment. It included different styles of painting and sculpture from various countries, but what they all had in common was an interest in mass-media, mass-production and mass-culture.This cleared the line between the as people say "high standard art" and "low standard art".The concept that there is no hierarchy of culture and that art may be borrowed from any source has been one of the most influential characteristics of Pop art.

The word 'POP' was first coined in 1954, by the British art critic Lawrence Alloway, to describe a new type of art that was inspired by the imagery of popular culture. Pop art was mainly focused on american consumers so the topic of art was food , cars , death and love . Pop artists celebrated commonplace objects and people of everyday life, in this way seeking to elevate popular culture to the level of fine art. Perhaps owing to the incorporation of commercial images, Pop art has become one of the most recognizable styles of modern art.

Colors used in pop art were mostly bold colors and where used from the color wheel , their was no emotion in colors that were used . If you draw a TRIANGLE on the color wheel so that there are three colors in the angles, you will get a triadic color scheme. It is very intensive color scheme, which is often used in Pop Art. These colors are perfect for extravagant, eye-catching, poster-like designs, where you need many colors.
